Description
4ply Fleck – Pebble: 100gram skeins of soft 4ply merino wool yarn with dark donegal nepps, hand-dyed in a colourway of deep charcoal through to pale silver grey. A soft but durable yarn, suitable for next-to-skin knitting and crochet projects such as shawls, hats, socks, etc. This is a repeatable colourway, hand dyed in Cornwall.
Merino is the softest wool yarn available, and is excellent at regulating body temperature, especially when worn against the skin. Merino sheep need to be shorn at least once a year because their wool does not stop growing.
The donegal neps are small clusters of fibres spun into the base yarn when it is produced. They resist the dyes and add texture and visual interest to the finished yarn.
