Description
Egyptian Lace – Burnished Orange: a luxurious natural fibre yarn made from a combination of baby alpaca, linen and silk, hand-dyed in my dedicated home dye studio near Perranporth in Cornwall.
This yarn is beautifully soft with a matte appearance. It is ideal for next-to-skin projects made by for weaving, knitting, or crochet. Egyptian Lace is classed as a heavy laceweight or 3ply yarn. It is exactly halfway between a standard 2ply laceweight with 800metres per 100grams and a 4ply yarn with 400metres per 100grams.
Just one 100gram skein is enough to crochet our Penhale Shawl design. Use 2 or 3 skeins to knit our Mordros Sweater design, available as a knit kit.
You will also find patterns suitable for this luxury yarn in the Lace knitting pattern booklets.
