Description
Alpaca 4ply Sock – Tin Mine: 100gram skeins of soft 4ply merino wool blended with superfine alpaca with a touch of nylon for durability.
Knit one 100gram skein as a pair of Tidal Socks, or use it to make a Lacy Heart Shawl, Triangle Trellis Shawl, or Waterlap Shawl.
Merino is the softest wool yarn available, and is excellent at regulating body temperature, especially when worn against the skin. Merino sheep need to be shorn at least once a year because their wool does not stop growing.
Alpaca is a soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fibre. While similar to sheep’s wool, it is warmer and has no lanolin, making it hypoallergenic and suitable for those with wool allergies. Alpaca is naturally water-repellent and keeps it’s shape well.
The nylon element adds durability to the yarn, making it ideal for socks.
