Description
4ply That Yak – Undyed: a soft but durable yarn, suitable for next-to-skin knitting and crochet projects.
This luxury sock yarn is also ideal for shawls, hats, garments, etc. One 100gram skein goes a long way – I knitted a pair of adult size Tidal Socks plus stretchy fingerless mitts using just one skein of this yarn
Merino is the softest wool yarn available, and is excellent at regulating body temperature, especially when worn against the skin. Merino sheep need to be shorn at least once a year because their wool does not stop growing. Merino wool has natural elasticity, helping the garment maintain its shape.
Yak is comparable to cashmere in it’s softness and is warmer than merino wool. Both Merino and Yak fibres wick moisture, keeping feet comfortable when used to make socks.
The nylon element adds a little stretch plus durability to the yarn, making it more resistant to wear and tear.
