Description
A 10-metre (11 yards) length of recycled sari silk ribbon in various beautiful hand-dyed colourways.
Each pack may differ slightly in texture and shade, and may have different colour tones along it’s length.
The ribbon has raw edges, knots and seams, and varies in width from approx 3mm to 30mm if ironed flat.
The ribbon is an upcycled by-product left over from the manufacture of sari silk, that may otherwise be thrown into landfill. Offcut strips of the fabric are tied or sewn together by women’s cooperatives in India. I hand-dye these ribbons in the same way as the yarns.
I measure the ribbon into 10 metre (11 yard) lengths and wind it into a hank (long tied loop), then package it in a paper bag.
Recycled sari silk ribbon is ideal for a wide variety of embellishment uses such as:
- junk journalling
- card-making
- bouquet ties
- gift wrap
- textile jewellery

Customer quote from Ali Findlay (Etsy customer): “Absolutely lovely sari silk. The best quality I’ve found and now the only supplier of sari silks I use.“
