After enjoying a workshop in natural dyeing recently, we now have our first plant-dyed yarn available!
The yarn is a heavy DK-weight (100 metres per 50grams) baby alpaca produced entirely in Devon from alpacas living near Dartmoor.
We picked nettles from our garden here in Cornwall and used them to dye the yarn, resulting in this gorgeous soft gold shade that we’ve called ‘Cornish Nettle Gold’.
This is a limited edition yarn – just 350grams are available at the moment! We will be dyeing more of the yarn with other plants soon.
I crocheted a child’s hat with one of the 50gram skeins, which fits a 7-9 year-old perfectly.
