Things may have looked rather quiet online around here recently, but it’s been non-stop activity in the background! I’m busy preparing for the very first Artist & Makers Ocean Market on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th July.

The Market will be held at the Royal William Yard in Plymouth. This will be my first time there; it looks like it’s going to be a great venue, with lots of space, light, and character.

The stallholder selection looks fascinating too! I’m looking forward to seeing some of my favourites including Julia Crimmen, KDesigns, and BACeramicsGlass. If you’re interested in who will be there, follow @OceanMarkets on Facebook or Instagram.

I’ll be there with a selection of lightweight summer yarns, recycled sari ribbon packs, and a couple of brand new kits!

Sandy Shore CowlThe beautiful Sandy Shore Cowl kit is a lovely summer knitting project. The fabulous pattern from JenStarKnits uses most of a single skein of smooth and soft merino tencel 4ply yarn.

The simple lace design is easy to work and gives a beautiful result. The finished cowl is soft and cosy to wear, with a lovely drape.

Jen designed and knitted the original sample shown in colourway ‘Sandy Toes’ which will be available this weekend. I’ve also dyed a few other colourways for choice including the ever-popular Unicorn Clouds.

The Pinnate Gloves kit is the other new one available at the event. Pinnate GlovesThe pattern was designed by Sandra of The Feminine Touch Designs to use one skein of DK Falkland Merino wool.

The fingerless gloves are knitted flat with the pretty leaf cable design twisting opposite ways on each hand.

The sample shown uses colourway ‘Purple Rhapsody’; this will be available along with a selection of other shades to choose from.

Both kits will be available in my Etsy shop after the event.

The kits make great gifts for birthdays and Christmas, so come along to the Artists & Makers Ocean Market this weekend for a browse!
